How One Can Screw Up A Dialogue

Have I ever told you that I hate theater? Here is my opportunity, it’s the moth of Moliere! Well, I don’t really hate it anymore than I hate soap operas or Hollywood Big Production numbers, but I have not seen those in a while. Now, some of it, like Comedia del Arte, is a special genre of theater you are not going to see every day; however, the same rules apply, poor acting has a universal value! Sometimes it’s a mismatch, you have a good actor next to a poor actress, and she drags him down to her level; sometimes all the actors are bad across the board which gives us a fairly even performance. Sometimes all of them are dismal, but one; and you wonder what the hell she is doing there with all of these losers? And that is exactly the case with the show called Les Fantasies mythologiques, which is to be seen in open air at Potager Du Roi on 19 and 26 of June at 18:00, here at Versailles. By the way, this is not Comedia del Arte, it is Stephanie Tesson’s show with the texts written by Florian Zeller and Anne Bourgeois after Ovid’s Metamorphoses. I do not remember the name of the actress, but she has the part of Actaeon. All by herself and delicious.
