One time Cardinal Dubois and Duke of Orleans went to a masked ball. They were both wearing disguises, but the Regent was afraid that they would still be recognized. “I have a solution for that,” says Dubois, as he kicked the Regent in the butt. “You see, it is working! Nobody is paying attention to us now.” “Yes,” said the Duke, “but I am afraid you are disguising me  a little too much.” (Continued-1), (Continued-2), (Continued-4), (Continued-5) The painting below is at the Dauphin quarters at the Chateau Versailles. The one above is currently at an auction, its painter is Pierre Gobert.
